About the UK CLC.

Our goal is to develop future cyber leaders who will make a significant impact within the UK cyber security community.

Each year we challenge teams of four higher-education students to act as advisors to senior decision-makers responding to an escalating cyber incident with national security implications.

What makes this initiative unique in the cyber landscape is the focus on human-centric & leadership skills as well as the diversity of students that participate.

In 2026, over 400 students representing 72 universities across all four home nations took part in the competition. 35% of competitors were female and 47% were of ethnic minorities - both above the UK cyber industry averages.

In addition to the traditional STEM subjects that take part, we are proud to provide an entry point to cyber security for students from any academic background such as law, public policy, philosophy, criminology, urban planning and Japanese studies to name a few!
